By mature I simply mean that I seem to be much older than the young beautiful faces I see on Beautylish, but If any of you can help direct me to a concealer, foundation, powder, and priming and setting products, Yes help with it all, I would be very thankful. Minerals(tried: Dior and Bare Minerals)show horribly dry. Powder(tried: Dior, Givenchy, Mac) show too incomplete and I can't build on them. Liquids and creams(Dior, Givenchy, MAC, BB's) show cakey and greasy. Touch ups are all day long so I'm wearing 5lbs if makeup by the end if the day. I am not comfortable without a pretty full coverage, but not a cake for 20 on my face??

Are you kidding? I am going to order tomorrow. Of course it helps. I am trying hard to embrace the aging thing, but would like to feel good about the way I look. So thank you I cannot wait to see how it all comes together. What, if any are your thoughts on airbrushing?

Thanks Seph A. I will turn 49 this year, and I will hopefully find something and am open to try whatever it takes. There are so many changes happening in my skin, just the past 6 months. I have questions about everything for maturing skin. Everything from cleanser and mousturizer to lip color and gloss, no gloss. Very weird for me. And yes that it a recent photo, but, I have found the coolest photo app, called morebeaute2. Aaaammmaaazzziiinng. For an old woman anyway. So anything you artists and pros and beautiful people are willing to share is going to be helpful. So thank you!!

Wow thank you Toribeth T. and Iqra H. I'm telling you that photo app is what has fooled you. It is amazing. Its called "morebeaute2" and you can really edit the heck out of it. lol yea it works really well. But we all see ourselves differently too so I will say thank you again. Iqra H. To me, when I lumminate anything I feel it settles in all my, "happy lines", but if I go matte, I feel cakey and dry. Thats my dellema, and I can't figure it out. So I watched a tutorial on youtube.com and the title is " a flawless face without make up" and its a teqhnique using concealer and moisturizer. Gonna give it a try too. Keep the good advice comin because I know I will find what works. Thanks soo much!!

That sounds a gd combo between foundation and moisturize. I'll try that too. are you using the powdered or cream based concelor? I think creme one should work better on your skin.

You go you do look good!! I am 43 you should check out Mary Kay Products. They have samples you can try. I like it cuz they have anti aging products. What I have found that I so like the milk of magnesia it keeps my makeup fresh all day long a few touch ups here and there but I like it with my mineral foundation. I like MK products it works for me.

Thank you Nicole B. can you explain the milk of magnesia please. Iqra H. The tutorial said you could use either, but the liquid makes more sense to me. I will be trying it with both. I'm determined to figure this out. Very interested in MOM that Nicole B. mentioned. So let us in on that one please??

Thats very sweet Seph A. Commit to a skin regimen that you know you can keep. And be determined to keep it. I got serious about my skin at 22. It was way more worth the 15 little minutes it took to make sure that I NEVER slept in my makeup and that I would drink lots of water and NOT pick or squeeze the zits on my face. Water, water, water, it really is probly the most important thing you could ever do for your skin. I also picked up the clairsonic mia cleansing brush as soon as they were available. Best brush out there by far. They are a bit pricey, but the return on the investment is far more than what you spend. The durability, and effectiveness of this brush pays for itself within the first month. I believe in it so much that I bought my 2 daughters and 2 daughter in laws one for christmas. The best gift you could ever give the other women in your life, men too if they will use it. Again I have to give credit to the photo app I used, but I do try to keep my skin healthy for sure. MAYBE 3 or 4 nights tops that I have not cleansed my face at night in 27 years. you have to commit for you.

As far as a good moisturizer, I use cetaphil. I love it because its a happy medium. It doesn't leave me oily yet it doesn't dry me out either. And yes, a primer is needed. They help even out the foundation/BB cream application as well as making your skin look smooth. The foundation I use is by Revlon. I love it because its inexpensive and does the job. Try either the photoready airbrush, colorstay or photoready. Its the best drug store foundation you can buy. And BE SURE to set your face with a makeup setting spray when your all done. I never have to re-apply during the whole day! I use Urban Decay's all nighter. I am ambushed with compliments all day :)

Oh, I forgot to mention a translucent powder. Use it lightly all over your face before you use the UD setting spray.

Thats funny you post that! I went yesterday and picked up the all nighter by UD, the primed and pore-less primer and the P&P setting powder. I'm going to try them out and see what I can do. Now, the setting spray, I have read that some use it before foundation as well as when completed. If thats an option would you spray before or after primer then proceed with foundation?
