Something I'm really passionate about, I believe the majority of my make up is not animal tested, just wondered if anyone knew any companies that don't?

Lush is very much against animal testing and all of their products are natural. I love everything there!

NYX, UD, Lush, Tarte...you can always look up your favorite brands and it should say directly on their site whether or not they are against animal testing.

It matters, some companies don't test (their final product anyway) but they contain animal ingredients. Are you just looking for a company that doesn't test or one that doesn't test and also doesn't use animal byproducts? :) that will really help me narrow it down for you. I have many years experience from buying only cruelty free and as it is the end of cruelty free week, I would love to help :)

Yes covergirl and maybelline test on animals as well as L'oreal, avon, almay, Revlon, Rimmel and Neutrogena.

And don't check out PETA site. They don't update often go to leapingbunny.org.

Michelle I'm mostly just interested in cruelty free products, learning to be a make up artist at the moment and I don't want anything in my kit that is tested on animals. Difficult to tell from websites because they say 'they try not too' which isn't very convincing!!

Cool! :) If you are wanting to completely look into cruelty free products there are several different companies that are completely cruelty free. Some of these companies do not test but they still contain animal so they are not cruelty free. This is my list of good products... BWC (beauty without cruelty), ecco bella, urban decay does have a lot of vegan stuff (cruelty free) they even have a full awesome vegan eye palette. :) The body shop is also a great company and although there stuff isn't completely vegan it is vegetarian and much more natural than most. They even have great animal free brushes that I personally freaking love and they come with a lifetime warranty... seriously, a few years can pass and you can return it if it starts to fall apart... which mine haven't yet! :) If you are interested in them go to thebodyshop-usa.com cause they are having a buy 3 get 3 free sale right now! I'm getting some stuff from there after I type this. lol check out veganstore.com for more companies. :) Also do check out leaping bunny for more sites that are approved cruelty free. I hope I helped! And good luck with learning to be an awesome makeup artist! :)

I refuse to buy make up that is tested on animals. The brands I buy from are NYX, NYC, Hard Candy, Too Faced, Urban Decay, Kat Von D, Tarte, Make Up For Ever, Elf, Gosh, Lush, Zuii, and Lily Lolo. Brands that DO TEST are Maybelline, Covergirl, Revlon, Rimmel, Almay, Benefit, Quo, Smashbox, Anna Sui, and there's more. You just have to google stuff as you go for the most part.

E.l.f. hard candy, Laura Mercier, Too Faced, TreSemmé...

Companies that DO test on animals are Maybelline, anything owned by L'Oreal - Garnier, Pantene (although the Body Shop does NOT test), CoverGirl, Aveeno, Neutrogena, Essie, Orly, Olay, and lots more :-( Check the PETA website (they do update everyday) or leaping bunny. I remember seeing a website...I think it was Veggie Beauty and that one was quite accurate as well.

I'm with you!! I'm very passionate and strictly only buy non-animal tested products.

I'm so pissed that sephora tests on animals because the disney princess storylook palettes are a must have for me :( I don't think I'm going to be as thrilled about them now as I was

I suggest checking the leaping bunny list, it's more accurate and it lets you know if a company is owned by another company that is NOT cruelty free. For example, Urban decay is technically still cruelty free BUT they are owned by L'oreal who is not. Also keep in mind that some companies that are CF are not on these lists, it's just a matter of doing your own research. Tarte and Stila are companies not on the list but are CF.

I have a channel on youtube and I focus on cruelty free beauty only, check me out if you like (: BeautyTalkWithCin
