what's the best way to clean curling irons n flat irons?

You take a paper towel, or washcloth, wet it with warm water, and clean the entire tool. It works great(;

@Lizzie, I'm sorry. that probably sounded like a dumb question n i should've been more specific. i have hairspray that's been caked on so i needed a suggestion to help with the heavy duty stuff. :) @Erica, thx. will try that

When it is warm, carefully, with a towel wipe it off. Use a bit of oil or something for stubborn "funk." When cool, spray with rubbing alcohol to sterilize if desired.

dilute 50% alcohol and 50% water in a spray bottle. spray on a cloth a gently rub the plates and the residue will come off. do not put hairspray on before applying heat on your locks it will just evaporate on your tools and no hairspray on your hair :). have a nice day.
