I live in a small town that has NO beauty schools and I found this one online for professional makeup artist which is one thing I want to go into and then want to progress to going to a beauty school for Esthetician. In your option do you think this online school is a good thing?

I would suggest matching as many tutorials as possible..you can really learn a lot..if you can getting your esthetician license will def make you more marketable. I would be a little weary of an online makeup course that requires you to pay. tutorials are free and ive learned so much..a few to checkout....makeupbyeman is amazing. also makeupgeek, pixiwoo and gossmakeupartist and kandeejohnson. hope this helped. good luck:)

You can really learn a lot from tutorials, magazines and practicing. Experience is key. I am a self taught makeup artist with over 10 years experience working full time as a stylist/mua. I went to cosmetology school for hair but have learned them most from experience. Invest in yourself and you can go a long way. Formal education and training isn't always necessary. Check out moneymakingmakeupartist.com , there are free resources like guide to building a pro kit and list of all the artists discounts and how to apply. There are workshop/webinars for setting up your business that are really helpful. They don't teach you this i makeup/hair school so you have to learn it somewhere!

I wouldn't pay for an online Makeup Course. You wouldn't get a kit. Also just practice!! I am a Master Esthetician and they didn't really go into makeup too much. I had just been practicing for years, which is where I got my skills. I can answer any questions you may have :)

Thank you all so much for giving me some advice. I do believe that I want to go through with school online for make because I know it is all experience but I also think I could learn a lot more techniques going through this class and I do not have a beauty school up here or where I could get to at this time but I will get there and I am thinking like Jacqueline H. I think it will be a better marketing tool for me. I have talked with many salons up here and I need a one up because there is a lot of weddings, proms and so on so whatever will help me start up I am willing to do. I do love all the advice thank you:)
