For winterball I spent 15$ on a dress @ forever21 & I did my own makeup and hair! So I saved a tons of money.
For prom I got my dress for 430$ and then I spent 35$ on heels and 15 on jewerly & 15 on a silicone bra.
& I'm going to be doing my own hair and makeup so I'll be saving 100$
What about you guys? I'm curious to know how expensive it is in different states

Well I live in Quebec, Canada. my prom dress was about 500$ with taxes and I spent about 100$ with hair and makeup. looking back... yes it was expensive but it was my gift from my parents to get my dream dress and I had been working since age 15 too. the prices vary... you can get a prom dress for like 100$ but it can go into the thousands.
also, that is the only party the school throws ao I have no other experience with winter or formal balls and stuff

I spent 60$ on my prom eons ago! I'm in California! I got a dress from Macy's and had a friend do my hair and makeup. I wish I would have splurged on a better dress because two girls were wearing the same one! Have fun girls!

$215 on dress, nothing on shoes and $200 combined for makeup and hair.

I'm on Canada, and we don't have prom but girls go all out on their graduation dresses
My dress is (I'm graduating high school in June) $350 but it was on sale for 50% off (it was originally $700)
I haven't bought my shoes yet, but I don't want to spend more than $100 on them
And I'm doing my own hair and makeup

It's my senior prom so I'm not doing anything extravagant. I'm just getting a little black dress with some black heels and gold jewelry l. I'll be doing my own makeup and my own hair so I'll probably only be spending $50 or less :)

I'm with Nikol, my prom in Texas I spent like $45 on a dress at Kohl's, I had a pixie cut so I didn't have to do my hair (I just put on a headband with a pretty black flower), and I did my own makeup. It wasn't how I always imagined my prom getting ready process would go but I like how I looked and that's all that mattered to me (:

In Oklahoma I spent about 600 on my dress, 80 on heels, 50ish? on jewelry, & I actually got my makeup & hair done just for the experience, & that was about 80 as well & I tipped 40.
I couldve been more thrifty, sure, but it was my senior prom so my parents bent a little more on the money. Lol.

For my grad banquet, I believe this is my a Canadian event if I'm not mistaken. My dress cost I believe $650-700. My hair was $100, makeup was free at Sephora, jewelry was probably $50 and shoes were another $50.

I've never spent more than $60-80 on a dress. IMO it just isn't worth it. I don't understand this craze of girls spending hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars for prom.
