Does anyone know any good ways to get rid of blackheads?

I have that same question! I am ordering some Mario Bandescu products soon and will be chatting with one of their customer service people on-line before I do! I love their products and they can help you chose something to fit your needs before ordering!

There are several things that you can do, I'm going to copy and paste my answer from another thread about blackheads if that's okay with you =)

So personally, I'm really prone to blackheads, and what I like to use are two things:

-Biore pore strips, which work really well for me (though they don't work for everyone, but it doesn't hurt to try). They basically adhere to the comedones (blackheads) and pull them out if they're not too deeply embedded. They're not great for constant use, but once a week or so usually does the job for me.

-Origins Charcoal Clearing Mask, which I also use weekly. The active charcoal in this works to dissolve any sebum buildup in your skin, be it blackheads or breakouts. It's really awesome, but it does dry out your skin so if you use it please make sure to use a heavy moisturizer afterwards.

I also see an esthetician monthly who does the more difficult extractions for me, though I'm a picker so on occasion I'll just remove them myself. I highly, highly recommend finding an esthetician for facials every 4-6 weeks, I've seen such a dramatic improvement in my skin over the last three years that I've been getting monthly facials, it's insane. Nothing helps like a skilled esthetician, seriously.

I also use a chemical exfoliator every night, the Dr. Dennis Gross peel pads, which help keep my skin really clean and smooth, but because you're so young that's probably a bit much for you =)

What's most important is getting into a SUPER consistent skincare routine, which will help minimize your blackheads overall.

Great info Hannah! I'm going to look into frequent facials...I need to find someone I can trust though! I love the Origins mask too!

Thanks Nikol! You're right, it's really important to find an esthetician that you trust and is good. You can look up the required number of hours to get an esthetician's license for your state, if you're in the US. Some states don't actually require a license to be a practicing esthetician, which scares me personally, so make sure that you find someone reputable. In Florida, where I go to school, they only require 500 hours of experience, and no esthetician's license, to be able to work on someone's face. So even though I went to the same spa in Florida that I ordinarily go to in Georgia (where they require 1500 hours and a license), where I'm from, the facial wasn't nearly as good and in fact it actually ruined my skin for a few weeks with scabs from lancing blackheads that didn't need to be lanced. So it's always good to do your research =)

Egg method - open pores with warm towel or steam. use clean brush or hands to apply egg whites (only) on skin. put one ply of tissue or toilet paper over the egg. it will harden. you can add another layer of egg over the tissue. when its hardened, let it sit for like 5-10 minutes. take tissue off to reveal less clogged pores. close pores with cold water.

Baking soda x toothpaste works really well but its apparently really really bad for the pH balance of your skin. google it I guess?
