I am really good at makeup, but for some reason I cannot contour! I have a contour kit, it always looks like dirt on my face lol!! I prefer powder over cream. Please help me!

What products and brushes are you using?

I like to suck in my cheeks and just follow that line, but be careful not to go too far or too low. I just pick up a little product at a time because it's easier to add than remove. Also make sure your contour isn't orange. It should be a cool gray toned color.

That's a great idea Katelyn. I usually just swoop it on! Not slowly

I got taught this by an Estee Lauder makeup artist. Follow your tragus. Where your tragus is, press down with your fingertips from there down your cheeks towards your nose and you should be able to feel your cheekbones. Using an angled brush or flat kabuki brush, press underneath your cheekbones with the brush

I tap my brush into the product just once and then tap the brush on the side of my hand to make sure I don't have too much. I always do small upwards circles to blend it into my blush and/or highlight. And once I've blended my highlight, blush, and contour with their individual brushes, I go back in with a powder brush that I use only for blending and I blend all three with that.

Start at your hairline right above your ear, then dust yout contour downward in a diagonal line towards the corner of your mouth, don't go past the outer edge of your eye. If your contour reaches your naso labial folds (laugh lines) you've gone too far.

I wasn't liking my contour until I switched to a smaller brush and started small. I found the smaller shadow gave a much more delicate look to my face than when I used a bigger brush.
