Hey! I've been trying to find ways to get rid of acne (blackheads/whiteheads) from my
face that aren't expensive and I can find around the house. I heard somewhere that coconut oil could help? Has anyone tried it or heard about using it for this purpose? Thanks!

I've tried the honey and cinnamon face scrub before and it didn't work.

Coconut oil can actually clog pores, especially if you're acne prone. Personally I would stay away from DIYs and get a proper spot treatment and/or a cleanser with salicylic acid.

Instead of coconut oil try tea tree oil to spot treat - if you buy it pure make sure you dilute it - or you can buy it premade in spot treatments by the body shop or desert essence - another good oil to use as a moisturizer is jojoba oil - it mimics the skins natural oils to trick it into producing less oil while you use it - it doesn't clog pores and if you use it with the oil cleansing method it can work wonders on blackheads - I use a mix of about 40/40 castor and jojoba oil then the rest is tea tree oil and some emollients from the Dior cleansing oil - you can make your own or buy a premade mix - but I find the OCM is great for drawing out impurities deep in your pores - just use it instead of your cleanser and follow with toner, spot treat with tea tree and moisturize with jojoba.
