I came across this name in the youtube, but I want to know what the Beautylish community thinks about it :)

Very natural makeup is something I think a lot of women do on a regular basis, including myself.

Mine consists of concealing spots and powdering, light bronzer, blush and highlight, filling in eyebrows, mascara, and some Chapstick :) For me, natural makeup really tends to be about enhancing the skin and making it look very natural and fresh yet as unblemished as possible. However, showing a few spots, or in my case letting my freckles peek through, really adds to the low maintenance light makeup vibe.

As for the "no makeup" name, I don't really think what you call it is important. I think to some extent it does buy into the unrealistic societal expectation that women can actually look blemish/pore free, long lashes and perfect brows in real life with no makeup. And that expectation is stupid and not something I'd like to proliferate. But at this point, I feel like I'm really over analyzing something that's just a name lol. And as I said before, the look itself is something that's very beautiful and very easy for many women to achieve, which is why it's so popular.

I totally agree with you. Plus it takes less time to do due to which many women are doing this.

I'm a big fan of the no makeup makeup look! Too me it takes a lot of practice to make this look look truly like your not wearing makeup, and I been trying to perfect it for years!

I will use a nice bb cream or sheer coverage foundation. Then I will use a very natural blush to bring some color to my cheeks - for this look I like to use a very light pink to just give me a slight flush. Then I use a brown mascara that only provides length and no volume, to me that looks the most natural. I will set my brows with a light brow mascara, right now I'm testing out the Essence make me brow is something like that, its supposed to be a dupe for benefits gimme brow. I use an eyeshadow in the same color as my skin all over my lid, in my case I use White chocolate from the chocolate bar palette, and if I'm feeling a little extra I will pop a beige color in my crease to make my eyes pop a little more.
And lastly I will use a tinted lipbalm.

Now to me this look this requires a lot of products and I time consuming as I want it all to look as natural but still flawless as possible!

I have the same time issue as Sabrina, it usually takes me longer to do an über natural look.

After moisturizing and applying eye cream, I like to conceal anything that needs attention, not much. This winter unfortunately my skin was acting up so I would actually wear a foundation, but it's the MUFE Ultra HD and I went in very lightly!
Then I do my eyebrows with a taupe eyeshadow and an angled brush and I only fill in the gaps but I don't try to create a new shape, and some tinted brow gel on top.
If my concealer covered my very few freckles, I put them back on with a universal felt tip brow pen. Then I lightly powder where I need it.
I don't do my eye makeup at all, but sometimes I'll curl my lashes a bit.
On my lips, I use a lip stain in a light berry or brown shade and/or tinted lip balm of the same color palette.
A small amount of highlighter dotted on the highest point of my cheekbones and ever so slightly in between my eyes, and some bronzer if it's during warm weather.
I like liquid highlighter such as Mac strobe cream and sometimes I use that as moisturizer to create more of a dewy look.
After I'm done with the makeup, I take a tissue and I lightly dab my face and get rid of any visible makeup in my cheek area and sides of the nose. Setting spray completes the look.

I agree with Sabrina and Breeze. No makeup makeup doesn't necessarily mean using less products or less quantity, it's more about the right products and specially the way you apply them, so to me it actually takes longer because I take the time to work each product into the skin, layering very thinly when necessary, adding product little by little to achieve the flawless look in the least noticeable way. I usually spend around 20min working solely on my skin, using at least 10 different products, and have guys say "I like the fact you are not wearing much makeup". That always makes me laugh...

IMO, the mind set in which you do your makeup is most important. If one is comfortable with the way one is and gets rid of any physical complexes one may have, then makeup is truly about being yourself and will always look more natural! I have even worn purple eyebrows and people still called my makeup natural.

I think makeup being natural doesn't have to do with the color makeup you use, but with being you! (I know it's a bit off-topic, but it doesn't get said enough)

My issue is that I start off with the plan I'm going to do the "natural no makeup makeup" look but never seem to be able to stop just there I always just keep going till one of two things happen one I go full out glamour or I go way too crazy with the eyes and lips and look crazy lol I really would love to figure out how to do it as well
