Goto Sally's. Get The Protein Filler, 20-30 Volume Developer, Loreal HiColor HiLights For Dark Hair... Probably In Red Hot, & Then Your Gonna Want Riveting Reds In Shampoo & Conditioner.
Going red is never the problem it will be maintaining the color. When coloring red, the pigment doesn't fully penetrate the cuticle and it actually fades faster then other colors. The riveting reds come out quick depending on how often you wash your hair. You will most likely want to double process use ion 5IR and you can add extra red additive. You will want the toner shampoo and conditioner to prevent fading and wash in cold water.
I'm pumped because Pureology has come out with a red line that contains redkens rubiline technology so it help reds stay longer. Red = hardest color to get in, and one of the hardest to get out.
I still haven't competley decided wether I wanna go darker or another color all together. I loveee red hair soo its hard to decide. all off the feedback has helped. thannkss (:
Also, if you go red you can buy shampoo from tressa. You can find it online. It's called tressa water colors. It deposits the red onto your hair every time you shampoo so it keeps it vibrant. Love that stuff!! (Did I mention its only 8 bucks? AND it's sulphate free!) win/win

Red is great!! But it fades quickly so the upkeep can get pricey depending on where you go. Cosmetology schools are cheap.
