Hi everyone!
I need your professional opinion on which are the best possible, not crazy expensive scissors for my hair. I cut my own hair. I live in Germany and have not found a hair dresser that I can actually trust, so I've got pretty good at doing it myself. However, I think I need new shears. Mine are pretty blunt and my ends are starting to split on me. Let me know which are your favorites! Thanks!

Most places that sell pro sheers will require a licence so I would get some recommendations and order online if possible. The ones from like Sally or drug marts are not very good. You'll want to spend a good 80-200$ for them. They need to be extra sharp, like chef knives, but they'll last you forever since you're just doing your hair and not tons of clients.

Thanks, Alyx! That's what I was going for. It's an investment, really. Someone told me once that Japanese scissors are pretty good but I'm pretty clueless about the brands 😞

Now I know nothing about cutting hair - I would cut of my fingers if I ever tried to cut my own hair - But with some googling these scissors keeps coming up as the best:

😱 wow they do rate well. I've been reading reviews and they're amongst the favorites. I think I'm going to go for it. Plus they sell them with the texturizing shears in a set. And customers that have bought them on amazon have also been busy checking Japanese swords. How freaking cool is that! I want my Hatori Hanzo sword+scissors set.

Mariana I live in the UK and my hairdresser comes to my house and she recommended I get the Saki Makoto Student Hairdressing Shears / Scissors Set so that I could trim my own hair when she was too busy with weddings, they are great - my hair is similar to my avatar!, so very easy to trim.

Definitely Japanese shears! The Hanzo's are my personal favorite but I've also got some Togatta shears that work nicely too :)

I've been using Washi sheers for the past 15 years. they are pricey but last. I use mine every day, 7 or 8 times a day and there is no signs of wear or tear...I've had the same pair for 12 years. Japanese steel is for sure the way to go.

Alyx T-- Mariana lives in Germany -- I've been to Europe had my hair done and bought supplies and I don't know about now but when I was there you didn't really need a license it was very overlooked.. Lol is it still like this Mariana?.. Btw your welcome! Hope you find a good pair there.. You can always ask someone at a salon and in most cases but it from them.. Some might sell it as well on the side.. Or I don't know

F F, I live in Germany, land of regulations, licenses and requirements 😂😂😂 don't want to complain about this amazing country but I have not been able to find a saloon I can trust. I really do not know about their shears but I do know my ends splitted Like crazy after going to several of them. Thanks, Kelly, that really helps. 15 years of happy use is what I need to hear 😊
