Hey girls,

So I went to David jones and bought my first ever "expensive" foundation haha but I got wrongly matched :((( I bought this to wear when I have fake tan on. I was matched to the 3N1 ivory beige in the double wear but it's sooooo Orange!! And doesn't match the green kinda undertone my tan has (Bondi sands - light).

Can anyone push me towards a better matched colour?

Thank you!!

I've been wrongly matched so many times with this foundation! Just go in and ask them to re-match you and that you're unsatisfied with the other colour :)

Yeah I'll go in tomorrow and ask to get rematches. I'm just looking to see if anyone has any idea on which have a more greenish undertone :) hopefully they refund me. I'll be annoyed if they don't!

At least someone attempted to match you! I've been wanting that foundation for months, I ordered it in December when Sephora had 20% I had just gotten back from Mexico with a tan and the color didn't match so I returned it, but to my surprise I've never noticed that the Sephoras around my area don't carry Estée Lauder in store :/ so this Monday I made a quick trip to the mall and headed to Macy's to see if someone could help me find the right shade. It was a young girl helping me, I told her I had bought the shade Wheat before but it was light on me. That I wanted to try cashew and tawny. What she did was take out Wheat (not a tester) from the locked closet where they keep the items to sell and told me to try it. It did match fine but what if it didn't? How many foundations are in there opened and used that people try out? And the girl expected me to buy it, I told her no thanks I wanted to find the shade and buy from Seohora. It was just poor service she didn't even try!

But good luck finding your shade! The foundation is worth it in my opinion, just a hassle finishing a shade.

I was doing tons of research on the double wear cause I was looking for a match as well. The only one with an olive tone was 4W2 but it's quite dark.
I have this issue all the time. I have golden/olive skin.
When I go into a store my skin tends to look a tad darker but it's still yellow and a sales associate always looks through the yellow toned shades.
Since I look a tad darker they end up trying to match me with a color that's a shade or two darker. I end up looking either really pink or really orange.
You can either look for a brand that carries the right tone or just do what I do a lot of the time.
If a foundation is a little darker and orange compared to your neck and body that's a tad greenish.
I add a little bit of a loose green eyeshadow (I use the landscape green pigment from MAC) and I just mix it on the back of my hand and it tends to match A LOT better and it lightens up a smidgen.
Keep in mind my wrists are lighter than my face.
This does work for me but it can be a hassle cause sometime you may add too much green or not enough so I've been looking to buy the MAC airbrush green color that way I can count how many drops I'd need to be more consistent

The foundation I had in the pic is the MAC Pro longwear nourishing waterproof foundation in NC35 (looks a bit too dark and pinkish/orange on my face)
