I thought about ordering the sigma one however I tried the Eco tools one first to see how I like it. I used it with my EL double wear and I feel like this brush doesn't blend my foundation into the skin well enough?

Maybe I'm not using the brush the right way or with the right product? I feel like my foundation is just sitting on top of my skin opposed to blended into the skin.

If anyone has this kinda brush how do you use yours?

I use the Sigma F80 with the Double Wear and it blends fine (: I dot the foundation onto my face and then blend with the brush, I find that works better than picking up the foundation with the brush itself. If you're still having trouble then try stippling the foundation on first with the brush to get an even layer all over the skin and then blend/buff it all in.

Okay maybe that's where I went wrong! I put the foundation on the brush first instead. I also feel like it wasted a lot of product doing it like that. Thanks 😊

I also have a sigma f80, I pretty much just dab foundation all over and kinda stipple it all over until it's blended.

I have the sigma 3D kabuki brush and I love it. At first I didn't see a point to the angles on the brush but now I use it all the time, the shape makes it perfect for all areas of the face.

You're welcome! I had dipped my brush into the foundation when I first got it too, it's like there's a learning curve with it, lol.

Choosing a foundation brush depends on your foundation, your skin condition, the finish you're looking for, convenience, price point, the finish you're going for and lastly personal preference. In saying all that, I personally do not like flat tops. I have both flat tops, rounded, flat paddle and bullet shaped foundation brushes. I prefer the rounded. I understand what you're talking about as far as the foundation not blending properly for your liking. For me, because I have textured skin, I feel the flat tops only swirls the foundation on the "surface" of my skin. I feel because the rounded tops blends better by getting the foundation into my pores and less than smooth skin texture. I think it's because the bristles are different lengths, so some bristles are blending the foundation on surface and some are filling in my pores, and in a the cracks and crevices. This is just my personal experience. Everybody is different and has different skin types and conditions.

The only exception I have is that I do use the Real Techniques flat top stippling brush just in the cheek areas on either side of my nose. I use it as a finishing buffing in little circles clockwise & counter clockwise just to blur out those pores.

Maybe that's the problem I have. It might be my textured skin. I'm sad because I really wanted to like this brush too! That's exactly what I felt, that it was just being swirled around on top of my skin. However I have the RT expert face brush and I don't really like that either anymore. I feel like it doesn't apply my foundation nicely either. What do you use to apply yours Marleen?

I have different brands, but my favs are the Real Techniques Multi Purpose brush (a bigger, fluffier, less dense version of the RT buffing brush, the Real Techniques Buffing brush and a really thick dense Morphe fan brush, can't think of the # of that brush , coz I'm at work. Just because these work for me, doesn't mean it will work for everyone. I have older textured skin that's dry and I have hyperpigmentation. So I don't like super dense brushes like flat tops or the typical foundation brushes. The reason is, I don't want to stir up my skin too harshly and rile up any skin flakiness and because I use color correctors under my foundation for my hyperpigmentation, I also don't want to move the color corrector around from the specific areas I've applied them too. I'm not saying these brushes will definitely work for everyone. They are just ideas or suggestions of other things to try, if you haven't found anything that has worked for you yet.
