When I do a look like that I use IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream and Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer. If I want a little extra glow I'll apply a little of the NYX Illuminator in Ritualistic.

I have recently started using both the it cosmetics cc cream and too faced chocolate soleil bronzer and like Alexis I use them to achieve that look and love them both. as a powder I use the rcma no colour powder as I find it doesn't give too much of a matte finish compared to other powders and then I finish it off with a bit of mac strobe cream to highlight. :)

I just invested in the hourglass ambient light bronzer (and yes its hella expensive) and omg its so great! it gives me that perfect sun kissed bronzy look - I feel like JLo everytime I apply it! Worth every penny!!

Does anyone know how the RCMA no color powder compares to By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Powder as far as what Deborah S. referred to as a powder that "doesn't give too much of a matte finish?"

I use my tinted moisturiser (Natural Collection but any will do!) and mix it with my No7 liquid illuminator and apply all over my face. I find gold toned illuminators and highlighters are better for summer as opposed to pink as they're more bronzed and glowy. I also contour with the Freedom cream contour kit but I bronze with NYC Sunny bronzer to warm up my face:)

If you don't want to use a bronzing powder, rms makes a beautiful cream bronzer. Their Iuminizer is gorgeous too! All of the products I've tried from them are great - and so simple. I see they have an in-powder too - wonder how that is...anybody know?

@Alexis C. @Deborah S. I've been hearing such good things about the it cosmetics cc cream for a long time now and I think I might need to try it now lol! Same goes with the rcma no color powder but sadly I can't find it in stock anywhere:(

@Sabrina K. ughh that bronzer is so pretty. I don't know if I'll ever have the guts to spend $50 on a bronzer though! Maybe one day Ill convince myself to get this bronzer;)

@Hannah K. I unfortunately don't have No7 around where I live:( I've been wanting that illuminator ever since emily noel mentioned it on youtube! Also, how is the shade of the nyc bronzer? Is it too orange or red? :)

@Chris M. Do you mix the illuminator with your foundation or just apply it separately ontop? Thank you for the idea:)

Bri-bri, before committing to the full price of the IT Cosmetics CC Cream I bought a travel size from Ulta since it's cheaper and that was basically my sample, lol.

I like to use Estee lauder Resilience cream it has a beautiful iridescent finish or I'll use Mac strobe cream then dot apply then bobbi brown face base in areas of choice.under eye I'll let origins eye doctor set for a bit then go over with Charlotte Tilbury Mini miracle eye wand hydration side first then Pat on the brightening illuminated liquid from the other end of the wand now that said the brightener cream is not applid directly right under the bottom lash line. I'll use the It cosmetics CC cream then use a cream bronze like Nars Vientiane or Mac tint frost base pat on with a beauty blender. For highlight to stay in the whole glow look I'll use Mac cream base in Shell applied pat with a beauty blender or you can use a face balm or face gloss and highlight of choice. For the eye lids I'll use Mac Paints in shade canvas or Bamboo (not to be confused with paint pots) I'll lightly apply Hourglass Radiant light over on top of canvas which is on the main lid not pass the crease, you can use any highlight product of choice.Curl lashes and add false lashes. Finish off with hourglass Radiant light. This is just how I would achieve a Radiant glow theme on a face.I use many other product's depending on the plan but this was a quick view of what I pair with the It CC cream.
If your skin is on the super oily side you can add a bit of Mac strobe or illuminating cream to your Matte foundation (just a tiny bit) to help give a radiance glow.
If you choose to use blush use a cream but if you want to use a powder blush you could use a Radiant blush like L'Oréal Visible lift blush but I do like a face Glow that stay in the same finish because it gives the best even flow through out the skin seamlessly. :)

You can do whatever you want with the rms! I use the Illuminator just above my cheekbones, down my nose, etc., but all of their products are mix-able. It's a solid cream as opposed to a liquid, however, so you'd use it before or after, I'd say.

Chris the RMS Un-powder is great stuff. :)

Thank you Alma! The only powder I've bought is the By Terry Hyaluronic Hydro Powder. Are you familiar with it? I don't use powder much because I don't want to look dry, but sometimes I look a little too dewy. Do you know if the rms un-powder is similar to the By Terry?

Aw that's such a shame! The illuminator is so gorgeous, isn't there someone online you could order it from? I find it's pretty cool toned for a bronzer, definitely not cool enough for contour but it doesn't make me orange at all.

Bri-bri, I also bought it purely based on the good things I read on here and so far I'm not disappointed. I had stopped wearing foundation and only very occasionally put on bb cream but I've been wearing this cc cream every day of this week so far. The only downside is that the colour range isn't great, I ordered it in light but that's actually a tad bit too dark for me at the moment, so make sure to test it in store if you can. :) I got the rcma no colour powder through beautylish, I had signed up for emails on that products and was therefore able to pre order.  :)

I'm already bronze but to really make my skin glow I use Melanie Mills radiance dust. Her products are AWESOME! sometimes I add the gleam glow liquid to my bb cream to get a glow. As far as my face, (like nose and cheek bones) I have been loving Avalon from colourpop.

Chris: I woould not liken the RMS Unpowder to the ByTerry. The RMS is straight silica wheras the ByTerry is a mix of Talc, hydrated silica and Decylene Glycol which is a skin conditioning agent which enhances the ease of application (slip). It is also used to enhance the penetration of other ingredients that are in this powder which in this case would be the Sodium Hyaluronate (salt form of Hyaluronic Acid).

I think it just depends on how dry you are. While I love the RMS UnPowder, on dry skin, I'm not a fan. This kind of powder works best with either combo oily or straight oily skin. That being said, if you aren't overtly dry, it can be used to dull down the shine a bit. Koh Gen Do makes an awesome powder for dry skin: Maifanshi Face powder. It's a blend of Talc, Silk powder and Sodium Hyaluronate. I love it. It can also be purchased it pressed form for touch ups. Here's a link if you want to check it out.:

Thank you, Jacqueline! Fantastic! Are the By Terry and Koh Gen Do similar? Do I need the KGD of I already have the By Terry?

May 27, 2016

Jacqueline H.

Are they similar? Yes an No. You know how you kind of have to warm the ByTerry up a bit either with your hand or with a brush before you put it on the skin? With the KGD you don't have to do that, and the texture of the powder is a bit different... It's very silky and gives the skin a more dimensional finish versus a flat matte.

If you want a powder to take down some shine, I would stick with the ByTerry for your skin. You get the matte finish without the dry look and feel of a more traditional silica based finishing powder like the RMS. If you are ever in the market for a new powder down the line for your skin, I'd recommend taking a look at the Koh Gen Do. I don't have the Maifanshi powder at the moment, I'm waiting on my re-order, but I do have the KGD Natural lighting powder which is the same powder formula wise but translucent with a bit of a glow to it. I took a pic of it for you. I had to hit it pretty hard with a flash so you could see what I am talking about.  :)

I also applied a bit of the KGD Mainfanshi Moisture foundation over my hand and applied the Natural Lighting Powder over it. It's such a pretty soft focus powder... I love it because it does not look powder like on the skin. If you are ever in the market for a new powder, I think you'll really like the KGD.

Great! I still like a bit of a "dew," so both would be good for different times. One more question, if you don't mind...when my skin is moist, I feel as though putting powder on will cake and not spread smoothly. Can you please recommend the process of applying powder to dewy skin? Do I blot with a tissue first or stipple the powder at first to get coverage before blending?

May 28, 2016

Jacqueline H.

With a dewy foundation, what you don't want to do is use a powder puff because it disperses too much powder all at once. With a dewy foundation, I'll usually only set the T-Zone area with a minimal amount of powder applied with a more precise brush l'll attach a photo. The ByTerry and the KGD are good powders for your skin because they are a mix of silica and talc which won't give you that wet cement kind of look on your face after a few hours. Some people bypass using any powder at all and just set the foundation with a setting spray. That's all well and good, but most setting sprays have elevated alcohol content, and that's not the best route to go for someone with dry skin. There are a few setting sprays that are alcohol free that work nicely:: MUFE Mist + Fix and Laura Geller Set-n-Stay.
