My daughter is half black and half white and I've always had thin hair so I don't know where to start on her hair care. Her hair is extremely frizzy and curly and very course. I feel like by just using her johnsons on her hair I'm just destroying the texture. I've been recommended two products, carols daughter shampoo and conditioner line and also "it's a curl!" Hair products. I'm looking for something to put some moisture back in her hair and maybe loosen up her curls. Any suggestions?

It's hard to tell right now. her hair is going to change a lot she's very young. it's not good to manipulate it too much right now. Her hair isn't very coarse, and it doesn't look very thick. it just looks cotton textures right now. Using Johnson and Johnson will not destroy her texture at all. She's SO young you have to be careful and don't do too much. Also, nothing will loosen her curls but damage, or actual change due to her getting older. the longer curly hair is the more it loosens naturally because there's more weight to it.
If you're feeling it's serious that you don't use Johnson and Johnson, try shea moisture baby line. Otherwise, seriously - she's fine right now Lol.

I would suggest Olive oil for the moisture that a good conditioner would give without any of the chemicals it may have. her hair won't need to be washed as often and washing it too often will dry it out. I'd start with washing it every other day and then go out a say at a time until you get to a wash cycle that keeps it feeling healthy. if she has a bunch of knots use a wide toothed comb to brush the curls out without frizzing them up too much, otherwise just run your fingers through it with a hair oil like some jojoba or argan to smooth the curls. carols daughter and shea moisture are definitely top of the list. just for me can be hit or miss as a brand but they have a good natural line of hair oils. the reason Johnson's is so bad is because it's got sulfate in it that strip the hair of oils and buildup. but with coarse hair you want the natural oils in your hair so you don't want to use something containing sulfate on a regular basis. silicones aren't good either because they weigh the hair down and are hard to wash out without sulfates. so those are the main inredients you want to avoid. that's what I got off top of my head for now.
