Dear beautiful women,
Some beauty brands can be more on the expesive side, while others are there for us to get the most out of our money. Although this is true, it's okay to admit it. Do you like to spebd a lot on your favorite beauty products, spend less, or are you in between. Think about the brands you buy. Do they affect the way you shop for beauty products?

I'm not a fan of spending a lot on my favourite beauty products however I do and I like to believe that I'm paying for higher quality. Most of the time this is the case but there's always a few products that never live up to expectations despite the good reputation of a company. I always try to look for a cheaper alternative before I make a big purchase but I'm often unlucky with this method. I used to be guilty of just buying makeup because of the name brand but luckily for my bank account, I've improved.

When I buy beauty products I like to go with what works best for me. Some of my products are high end and some are homemade. I even use a few products that are designed for men. It's a lot of trial and error (and it gets pricy if you can't get the sample size). Over all I prefer wallet friendly products.

I feel like I'm in between. I love both high end and drugstore products. I like to try it all lol

When it comes to skincare I spend a lot. I freak out if I ran out of my fav face oils and creams. So I stock them esp if it's on sale on Hautelook, QVC etc. And yes, I admit I'm "spendaholic". Not just because I spend crazy amount of skincare items but also because I spend so much on accessories (bags, jewelries, sunnies, watches) and shoes. But of course that's a different story. Lol.

I splurge! I love my high end products, and just recently have I been discovering more affordable ones. It's funny because ill spend tons on makeup, skincare and purses, yet be thrifty on clothes

Ok please don't take this the wrong way. I am by no means a snob or anything of that nature. But to answer your question, ever since I attended makeup academies, I can't bring myself to go back to drugstore makeup. I DO like the Loreal Infallable Pro Matte. And I do watch out for marketing schemes with the more expensive companies. I think when I went to The Makeup Show, that's where buying products changed for me. I realized what a big world there was out there beyond Sephora. I like to check with my old instructors to get advice on products, check with the Sensai on here, Jacqueline, and do research online. The trade shows are great because everything was 40% off, so I got some expensive stuff at a great price. I also think it matters a lot of your a working makeup artist or if the makeup is for personal use. If it's for personal use then you don't have to worry about not getting hired back for a job because because the makeup didn't last or it oxidized or whatever. I think the MUA's have to spend a little more.
Now, I know that's not always the case. I use the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils a good bit. The moisturizer I use faithfully, Embryolisee, is about to be carried in Target. So I know there are some great drugstore products. I just lean towards the pro items.
I know that was a little rambly, I hope I made sense and came across the right way!

Nice responses, ladies. There is nothing wrong with paying am expensive price or paying lower prices for our favorite brands.

I think there are less expensive brands out there that are As good if not better than expensive brands. The exfoliater I use by Yes To Tomatoes works really well.

I definitely spend more on high end products than I do drugstore! Although I do have drugstore products I use on the daily, I'm less prone to trying new drugstore products than I am high end!

Honestly, it rly depends. I definitely have my limits, but itf something will last a long time and does what it promises I will spend. Some drugstore brands are just as good as Highend, no doubt, but I have never found anything as good as double wear foundation. I will definitely pay for that. Also, my ABH brow powder duo, even though isn't rly pricey, lasts me 6-8 months at a time. Since I'm not a lipstick person, so if I'm going to venture out of my comfort zone for a once in awhile look, I will most definitely use drugstore.

Nice responses! I agree. Some drugstore products tend to be almost or just as good as the popular brands.

A lot of my cosmetics are high-end, but I sure have some drugstore products. To be honest: I just can't stand lipsticks when I walk along the shelfs in the drugstore... I know it's grazy and I swear to myself all the time that I really have enough and don't need more lipsticks...My high-end products are foundations, eyeshadows and blushes. I have a really cheap mattyfying powder which works great. So it depends: If something cheap works for me, I will choose the cheap drugstore products, but I don't make compromises when it comes to foundation or eyeshadows. And I'm addicted to hourglass blushes ;)

I am definitely in between. Don't get me wrong, I love my high end makeup and there are some products that I will continue to repurchase til the day I die! I find that there are many good drugstore products as well though and if there are drugstore products that are the same or better, I'm not going to purchase for a name brand.

Eh. I'm not a big spender when it comes to beauty products AT ALL. I'm content with the drugstore products that have worked for me. I've bought highend products and feel too guilty spending money on it, I dunno why. especially if it either a) hardly gets used it b) is getting used everyday Lol. why spend so much for either! I do enjoy the quality of higher end though, but I'm not a makeup snob and can totally get the same effect with drugstore makeup hahaha. much rather buy shoes and clothes
