I tried to do it once but it looks so unnatural on me. Like I can't seem to line it up against my lash line. And when I do get close to lining it up it takes me forever and I always get poked in the eye.

It takes a lot of practice. Place the lash in the center and close to your last line as possible (place the lash using your fingers first) once the center of the lash is intact then use a tweezer and grab the outer lash stick it on then the inner lash last. That's how I do it. But I definitely takes a lot of practice.

It looked so unnatural on me when I first started wearing it only because I wasn't use to it but once you get use to it then it'll start to look more natural you.

Do you guys recommend fake lashes? I've heard many negetive comments of it.

Personally, I use tweezers to place the lashes. I tend to gently place them on the middle of my lashline first, but not press them down, then use the tweezers to adjust the outer edge to wherever I want it, and then go back along the middle, and then the inner corner. If you get poked in the eye, your lashes are probably too long so trim a bit from the outer edge,

Roya, I love false lashes, actually! I wear them on a fairly regular basis. What negative comments have you heard?

Thanks ladies! What are good lashes for beginners that you recommend?

Personally I prefer lashes with really thin bands, so I recommend the Ardell Demi Wispies for beginners, but my all time favorites are the House of Lashes "Bambie."

Really, actually, thinner bands all around are much easier to work with, in my opinion, because they're more flexible and fit to your natural lashline more easily.

Agree ^ A thin clear lash band makes it SO much easier & more comfortable. Also make sure to let the glue get tacky before applying them so they don't slide around. It definitely takes practice but you'll eventually become a pro (:
