I'm trying to decide on a foundation for prom, and I want to completely cover up my acne/scars/redness. So far I've seen the best recommendations are the Estée Lauder Maximum Coverage foundation and the Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo foundation. I don't know which to get! My skin is oily if that makes a difference, and I want my foundation to last all night. I don't mind if the finish is matte or semi matte. Or if you have any other full coverage foundations I'd love to hear them! Thank you 😁

Also which will look better in pictures?

Personally I think the Estée Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover has more coverage than the Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation. It'll definitely last all night and as long as you don't over powder your face it'll look great in pictures (:

I would go with Estee Lauder. But you might get a sample of both and see what works best for you...

I've tried both and the Marc Jacobs Remarcable covers better than both of them by a lot. I have hyper pigmentation and nothing would cover those super dark spots, not the EL or the KVD, but the Marc Jacobs does. It is AMAZING, my new holy grail.

The maximum cover definitely has more coverage but the KVD has a wider range of colors (IMO) so if you have a difficult skin color (like me) then it matches better - the Estée Lauder runs on the light side for me personally with my olive skin tone - and the KVD can be built up to the same coverage level as the EL - both are good for coverage and both last all day when you use a primer and setting powder - but I find the EL accentuates large pores so if you have blackheads or visible pores then you have to make sure you use a silicon based primer to fill them in first and exfoliate as well - for these reasons I personally prefer the KVD over the EL because for me it's easier to work with for my skin
