Elf has a nice primer. I would suggest spending a little more for better quality. Smashbox photo ready primer is my favorite.

Also if primers arent your thing. Try a setting spray or setting powder instead. Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray is magiv.

Rimmel fix and perfect (blue and white bottle). I have an oily tzone and this primer does a great job at keeping everything in place. I do however set with setting powder and apply elf setting spray. (:

Are you wanting a primer for all over the face or just under the eye?

The Elf primer is definetly a lot like Smashbox primers. The Elf primers also come with a lot of different types such as, Hydrating, Illuminating, and Redness Reducing. Theyre mostly good for making your skin look poreless and smooth and prepping skin for smooth foundation application. I wouldnt say that they're a key player in keeping you matte though. If you get oily I would set with a powder and then use a setting spray.

I agree ELF & Smashbox primers are not a good choice for a matte finish. Just to clarify prepping face and priming face are two different thing's. :)

You don't have to use either but here is a great read. :)
