I did do it for a while. it made my mouth feel extremely clean, almost felt like brushing was useless at times lol. but it took like 2 months for me to see my teeth whiten. it wasnt worth it for me so I stopped. 20 minutes in the morning was very hard with work/school.

I do it every day because I have extremely sensitive teeth due to clenching as I sleep and the coconut oil and swishing helps loosen up my jaw so it's no longer sore. I have noticed a difference in the whiteness of my teeth and they don't stain anymore. It does take a bit to notice the difference but it's easy and doesn't damage your teeth so I think it's worth it.

Alyx, that's a pretty great reason to do it! My jaw is always sore for clenching my jaw so much (side effect of a medication) I never really thought of giving my mouth an "exercise" to relieve soreness. I'm going to give it a try.

Kailey it's a life saver. I have always clenched my jaw from stress (and I'm always stressed lol) but I tried it when it started becoming trendy and realized it made my jaw feel better afterwards. On particularly bad sore days or if I forget to wear my guard at night I can do it 4-5 times throughout the day just to relieve some pain. On really bad days I swish it around for 10 minutes every couple hours lol. Plus it kind of numbs my nerves in my mouth, I don't know how, I think it just coats them or something, but I find that particular teeth that usually really hurt don't hurt as much afterwards. It lasts almost all day too. I don't wince at crunchy or cold/hot good anymore

Do you all do the oil pulling before or after brushing your teeth?

Sam, it should be in the morning before eating, drinking (even water) or brushing teeth. and when you brush, its important to focus on brushing your tongue because the bacteria builds up there.

And personally, after about a week,I didnt even use toothpaste in the mornings because it was unnecessary, but thats just my experience

I just seen a video on YouTube by Heidi Somers where she mentions that she uses hydrogen peroxide mixed with water like a mouthwash
