I'm just curious. I'm letting my hair grow out. I've been taking great care of my hair. I've been letting it grow out and have stop coloring it as well. I had really over worked my hair the past 8 years. I wash it only a few times a week and only use heat on it those times after I wash it. So, my hair only getting heat a few times a week isn't all that bad is it??

Any amount of heat on your hair is bad but, applying a heat protector before helps.

I've messed my hair up pretty bad dying it way too much and obsessively straightening it so I don't use any heat on it anymore

I agree with Debbie. Just because you aren't using heat daily doesn't mean that you aren't harming your hair. As long as you're using a heat protectant and limiting the time/temperature, you're doing your hair a favor, but no heat is best if you can manage.

Thanks ladies. I use heat protectors and such. I know heats bad for hair. I was just wondering if I was still using too much. My natural hair is frizzy curly. It's a lil past shoulder link now but its in layers. Only reason I don't wear it natural now is the layers. I have tons of volume and its afro-ie. At least till its mid back I'll start wearing it natural more. I do go few weeks sometimes with out any heat and just keep my hair pulled back.
