depends, for a helix piercing use saline if its a regular piercing in the earlobe use regular rubbing alcohol :) take a cotton ball or bud and soak it in the liquid then get it all around the front and back of the piercing then with clean hands twirl the earring at least 3 times :) do this when u wake up and when u go to bed :)
Saline solution works wonders. When I got my nose pierced they gave me a baggy of salt which I mixed with hot water. Four years later and I've never had an issue!
Bactine spray! You spray and manipulate the piercing whichever way you can (twist, turn, etc.) and the medication penetrates the hole and gets inside to keep infections away and promote healing.
Sea salt soaks!!! Never use alcohol on a new piercing, it will dry it out. Get a small container, sea salt, and warm water. Mix the salt and water and use a q-tip to apply to the piercing. Use it everyday and dont touch your piercing with dirty hands.

All piercings should be cleaned with sea salt salution (1 teaspoon of sea salt to 1 glass of water) 2-3 times a day
Lobes usually take between 1 and 2 months to heal and cartilage can take anywhere between 2 months and a year to heal fully

I use the stuff they gave me at Claire's.. (I would NEVER recommend getting your ears pierced there, but their cleaning solution works pretty well.)
