Yes u can contour w a darker foundation than ur skin tone , I use Mac blunt on my Nc 35 skin shade ;) I also like to use Mac mineralized skin finish in dark ;) hope this helps
Everything you contour with has to be at least 2 shades darker than your actual skintone. You can contour with concealer, foundation, powder, eyeshadow, anything really! Just make sure you apply it to the hallows of your cheeks, right under your cheek bones & you'll get a sculpted look. =]
I contour with blush and a big poofy brush using a dark blush. Cover girl has a blush where it's all thought out for you. The blush highlighter and contour but I rarely wear all three at the same time the brush is even decent as long as you apply it little by little and blend like crazy.
If you want to make your contouring very distinct and realistic, use a contour powder with gray undertones. The gray mimics shadows that are cast on your face.
Search on YouTube there are a lot of videos that show you step by step how to ! Sometimes it's easier to actually be able to see someone do it on themselves ! Xoxoxo hope it helps !
