I would recommend American Classics Gelous from Sallys works for me. You need to apply it thinly and not let it run on to your skin though else it could lift.
Ashleigh do they use a nail polish and a gel you coat? I've just finished my cert II in nail tech and realised I have all these gorgeous nail polishes but the gel I have cracks them! so frustrating. so I tried a different gel top coat and it shriveled. so confused!
Well they use opi for the gel nails, best brand out there I think! But they use a gel coating after so it hardens to the nail and you place your hands under the uv light. If you want to do it yourself, I'm unsure of that. Sorry. I have the fake gel nails, but nail salons offer the gel manicure!
You can use any gel topcoat over a regular polish. You just have to make sure the polish dries completely before adding the gel topcoat because it won't dry at all underneath the gel top coat. I do it at home all the time

At the nail salon they have great gel. I would recommend it! It's on my nails now! Stays for about three weeks :)

You should wait at least 5-7 minutes after the second coat before applying the gel covering. It will crack if you don't wait!
