I've done a lot of reading on it and exfoliating is supposed to help as well as a mixture of cinnamon, nutmeg, honey, and lemon juice(be careful, lemon juice can burn) but I think the only that really works is giving it time. lemon juice also lightens skin, do if you stop using it it'll stop working.

Don't ever put lemon on your skin. Omggggg. It'll cause more problems than it helps. Get a vitamin c serum.

ORGANIC RAW HONEY. seriously. It works wonders. I get mine from trader joes. I had cystic acne and it left some pretty nice scars.. I did have accutane for a year. Once I got pregnant, my acne came back. I bought organic honey and used it as a face wash.. And my face started to look amazing in just 3 days! Try it. You can't go wrong and it definitely will not harm your skin.

You can even use it as a spot treatment. Whenever I have a pimple I dab a little honey and put a bandaid. In the morning, it's completely flat.

I recommend try a vitamin c or a vitamin e oil. I have been using Radience (CVS is where I buy it) Vitamin E Oil for about two years now and it has gotten rid of dark spots that I thought I would have forever. I just mix about two drops in with my moisturizer at night and it makes my skin look amazing. It also doesn't break me out and most things usually do... So yeah I would give that a try or some Vitamin C like the other ladies mentioned. But DO NOT use lemon! Pleaseeee! I did and it really aggravated my skin and gave me some scars (that the vitamin e oil made disappear thankfully)...

I've never tried any home remedies like lemon juice and I doubt I would. I use Retin A and benzoyl peroxide (Dr. Lin's Acne Spot Corrector which is cheap and at drugstores). Vit C has unfortunately done nothing for me for some reason and I've tried a few different kinds.
