So I have been considering waxing and or shaving my face. I have read that it is a great exfoliation method for ones skin. I am blond and have hair mainly on the sides of my face closer to my hairline. I am completely comfortable with it. But wanted to know everyone else's opinion on it. I hear that if you do do either that your makeup will sit better on your skin. My fear is that my hair will grow back coarser or darker.

I have side burns that would be like Elvis. I shave mine. I do it everyday and use a good 6 blade razor. my opinion, go in the same direction as your hair growth, less of a chance of getting irritation. I'm to cheap to wax, but it would definitely last longer.

I wax mine, & my makeup definitely does look better I've noticed. My hair doesn't grow back thicker or darker, waxing actually helps slow down the hair growth.

I wonder if I could do the waxing at home.

I would wax and I used to but I am use retinol. This caused areas of skin to be ripped off with the wax.

I use a little personal trimmer to shave, my hair has never grown back darker or thicker, I only have to do it about once a week, but I've been doing it for years.

I use an eyebrow razor to shave the peach fuzz on my face. I do it about once a week on and off. My makeup does go on smoother and looks nicer although sometimes I get tiny whiteheads especially around my chin that are probably either from irritation or ingrown hairs. It doesn't bother me much and my hair has never grown back thicker or darker.

If you're ok with the hair, don't touch it. It will only make you more concerned with it when it grows back. Your hair will NEVER grow back thicker with waxing, it's damages the root and stunts the growth. Do not try and wax the side of your face at home, you could bruise or lift your skin. Go see a professional. It could come back darker because I if you have dark hair in the future of that hair, it speeds up the process. Hope this helps! ☺️☺️

I also have sideburns like Elvis I wax from time to time I try not to do it as often because I was told wax pull out the skin that this might cause sagging skin in the future. I use and recommend to use an epilator it's really easy, fast to use. It only pulls out the hair.

A hard wax will seal around each individual hair and lift off the skin as it dries, so there is no pulling of the skin. Waxing will never cause wrinkles or sagging of your skin in the future. Gravity, genetics and age do that.
