I have these red bumps on my legs and there's more than usual right now. What are they and how do I get rid of them!? I've had them for a while I just hope it doesn't need medical attention or a special prescription or anything like that. They don't hurt they're just..there!

Oh, I see it now. I know the exact thing to do! Exfoliate your legs, I had the same problems and finally found the solution is as simple as exfoliating your legs

With a dry brush and body scrub I'm guessing? I've heard that was a solution and I just got done with that process😂 I thought they just were weird razor bumbs.

So you just did it and it didn't do anything? I noticed that mine disappeared after 4 exfoliations, but I have to constantly do it and keep my legs moisturized all the time or they pop back up.

Do you just do it once a day? And I just did it as in 5 minutes ago so I've never done it before.

I do it every day, yes. I have to or they come back.

It is called chicken skin. It is common, try exfoliating it, applying coconut oil, and a daily moisturizer.

I recommend doing either or, not both coconut oil and moisturizer. Choose one or the other.

So you're saying these red dots increased in number after you did your exfoliation? That doesn't sound good..

It's called chicken skin, I have it too. I like using a moisturizer right after I get out of the shower. Preferably one made for dry skin.

If it's chicken skin (kp) Then mild exfoliation and a lactic acid lotion should help unclog the follicles.

I get that a lot right after I shave if I haven't done it for a while. I exfoliate right after I shave and then once I'm out of the shower and am kinda of dry I use lotion.

The actual name for commonly called "chicken skin" is called keratosis pilaris. It's excess skin cells built up around the hair follicles, causing those little red bumps. A lot of people have them, myself included. It's a hereditary thing, and it's not anything serious. Some ways to help curb the appearance are:

Exfoliating before shaving, and using a fresh blade.

When you do exfoliate, don't overdo it because it can irritate your skin and make it worse. Be gentle and don't do it too often. Usually every few days.

Moisturize daily with lotions containing lactic acid or urea - look for ones that say they help with rough skin. Curel and Eucerin are some examples. If you order anything from Avon, they have a duo of a body scrub and a daily moisturizer specifically for KP. I use it and it works great!

Bailey is on point with her info but on the legs and back of arms you can exfoliate daily using body gloves and a salicylic body wash ,just dont do it to hard then use a cream like Amlactin or gold bond for rough dry skin it had Alpha hydroxy acid which will help keep the area exfoiliated I have it on my legs and back of arms and its almost gone but you have to stick with it or it will come back
