My dermatologist recommended me this cream and I've been using it about 3 days and it's beginning to make my skin really dry. I'm just wondering about your experiences and how this cream worked for you?

I used tretinoin before, I also started with three times a week and eventually started using it every day. It made my skin dry and broke me out (which it is supposed to do). I would advice you to get a gentle cleanser and a moisturizer. Try not to exfoliate your face because tretinoin does it for you. Otherwise you will end up irritating your skin. I was on tretinoin for a whole year on a dosage of.25%. However, it did not do anything for me. I still kept breaking out with cystic acne. I changed my dermatologist and the new one put me on Accutane. It's a pill version of tretinoin. It was the only thing that cleared my skin.

It's amazing, but must be used very carefully.
My suggestion is to do the following:
Don't use directly after washing your face. This is when skin is vulnerable and most absorbent...so let your face dry a good hour before applying.
Use a minimal amount...dotting lightly areas in need.
An hour after application, apply a gentle moisturizer. CeraVe is excellent.
Use a hydrating face wash, such as CeraVe, Cetaphil or Purity.
When relaxing at home, apply Jojoba oil liberally to really keep your skin from flaking.
Before applying make up, try Philosophy Microdelivery wash, which gently removes flakes and hydrates.
Consider a hydrating primer.
Always wear a broad spectrum sunscreen with at least 30 SPF.
Use cooler water rather than hot when rinsing your face and pat dry gently using 100% cotton washcloth.
Use only pure, 100% cotton pullowcase..changed every 3rd day.
Eat foods that help keep your body hydrated. In the editorial section here you will find a helpful article, but you can also Google for more info..and drink oodles of water.
Good luck!

Rozberry nailed it. I used light argon oil instead cause I had it on hand and worked well to. I used cetaphil gentle non foaming cleanser and moisturizer while on this as well as skipping toner. I learned the hard way not to apply right after you wash your face. and to wait to apply moisturizer. my skin was horribly dry.
