This is my problem. I live in a dry city. No humidity. So my skin is all flaky. Any good base or foundation recommendations.

I have seriously dry skin. I really love using Embryolisse Lait-creme moisturizing primer, a bit of MAC Strobe cream and MUFE Face and Body. Applied with a beauty blender..it's truly lovely and doesn't dry me out or clung to patches. I also wash first with Philosophy Microdelivery to keep flaking at bay.

I have every dry skin. When all else fails, I mix a drop or two of joboba oil in with my foundation.

Stick with liquid foundations. Water based creams. And keep hydrated. Also maybe exfoliate every now and again to remove dead skin cells. I had some flaking earlier today because I used a too rough sponge on my skin earlier this week, so that's my plan. Stay away from products with alcohol too.

Thanks gals. Sad to say I used Embryolisse here as base, liquid foundation. And exfoliated the other day. Still no Bueno. Any other foundation product recommendations? I normally just wear RMS on normal days. But for work as field reporter I kinda need to wear make up like today and it was just caking and my dry patches were obvious.

I would look at your skincare. I don't know what you currently use but maybe your moisturizer isn't adding enough hydration.

I agree on the Jojoba oil. Slather it on after your moisturizer sets in when you have some down time at home. Have you ever tried Aquaphor?

I live in Denver (it's really dry) and I get eczema on my face sometimes when my thyroid is all messed up (Graves' disease lol) Jojoba oil is seriously a LIFE SAVER!
I can't second that recommendation enough lol, changed the game for me :)

Try macademia oil or raw coconut oil. And stay away from all products that have perfume in them. I have the same problem and even with the use of great moisturizers I still have dry patches sometimes.

Thanks girls. Perhaps my facial wash also dries up my skin.

I use oil at night either PTR oilless oil out Tarte maracuja oil. Then after my embryolisse in the am I use either Laura Gellar hydrating primer or it cosmetics feel the moment primer.

On days when that's still not cutting it I use Maybelline fit me smooth and dewy or it cosmetics cc cream with a beauty blender to hydrate and discourage micro exfoliation.

I've never used the Beauty Blender as an applicator. Does it really help?

I'd be lost without CeraVe face wash. For me, brushes often stir up dry patches. My moistened beauty blender and MUFE Face and Body combo is soooo forgiving on dry days.

Absolutely on the sponge question. Either a beauty blender or the real techniques one:)
