I wanna bleach my hair blonde and dye it with a box kit the shade I want. Will this work out, or will my hair turn a funky colour? I'm relatively inexperienced, so any tips, thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!!

Your hair is a bit dark, so it will probably turn orange/yellow, but that's not dramatic, you will probably need to bleach it twice or/and tone it before applying your new color :)

Honestly, it takes a lot of bleaching. Just bleach until it's blonde. Lol. It will become damaged but there's a few fixes to that.

Red is hardest to get out, and obviously a salon is the best option even if you were experienced. However, if the only option is to do it yourself and you don't mind if it does turn funky, I would use a color remover first before you bleach. Also, if you can get your hands on it and have an experienced friend help you, use Olaplex.

I'd seek a pro on this at a reputable salon.

I've just recently gone through that process. I used Loreal Color Zap and I think it worked well. I did it in 2 separate applications within 2 weeks. The first time made my hair orangy-pink...the 2nd time my hair turned yellow-blonde (which I wanted). Once you get to the level you want, just color over it. But I must say it's a long process and you must be prepared for weekly/daily conditioning and moisturizing treatments.

I agree with Rozberry.
After seeing so many horrible experiences happen I firmly believe that any serious dye jobs should be taken on by professionals, especially bleaching! Just go to a salon in your area that is reputable and dependable and find out what they would do.

I just bleached my hair from black and it was a process. Black and red are the hardest colors to get out because they stain your hair and depending on how long it's been in is depending on how many times you'll have to bleach. I did it two times and I'm still at a reddish brown because that was the color I had before when I stripped it. If your hair has any damage I wouldn't do it because it will destroy your hair, my hair is only okay because it was damage free and it took two years to get it that way. If you have no experience definitely seek out professional help if you want any hair left on your head because it's so easy to mess up when using any kind of bleach. also know it'll take at least two months to get thay color you want because your hair will need t rest.
