Trouble with Bangs..

A few weeks ago I decided to add more hair to my bangs. Since they are farther in the back, they aren't as long as the original ones. I've tried cutting my bangs to get them all to the same length, but I'm too scared to keep going. What should I do to fix this?!
To style them, I normally get them wet and blow dry them, so they swoop to the side. But it can sometimes look uneven.
If any of this made sense to you, do you have any ideas on how I could style my bangs or how I could get them all to the same length without making them too short? Thank you!
Here is a picture of how my bangs are normally styled:

That's how I cut my bangs, but I have a large section of bangs so it's hard to get them all the same length. And how would I hold the scissors vertically when cutting my bangs?
