I tried bleaching my hair but since it was black it only lifted to a reddish brown...I need it super blond so I can put my dark purple in...

What bleach did you use? You could wait a week or two and try again if your hair isn't too damaged. I recently lifted my dark brown (virgin) hair with Loreal's quick blue bleaching powder. I left it on for 40 minutes and it was a pale yellow color, which I then put Wella Color Charm Toner in T10 over, and it made it really white. I did this to apply a blue dye.

Wait a week to bleach it again. Use coconut oil meanwhile as a treatment. I would use quick blue bleach with volume 30 or 20 volume peroxide. Wella toner T14 (pale ash blonde) mix with 20 vol. peroxide and Ion ash intensifier. Then the blue dye. I would also get a protein hair treatment and leave in conditioners.

Quick tip...the volume in peroxide is also the longest it will process.
