If it's not a self-tanner and requires the sun or a bed it's not safe, period. Tanning is damage to the skin and will lead to wrinkles and skin cancer. Sorry for the lecture, but Friday marks the 5 year anniversary of the death of my 19 year old best friend---she died of skin cancer. Please look into spray tanning for a completely safe option. It's your choice to tan, but don't do so without looking into the risks.

Stephanie, so sorry for your loss. Truly tragic.

Sarah, I avoid sun like the plague, but on rare occassion I use gradual tanning mousse by Jergens which gives a natural warm tone to my pale skin. I have never tried the products you mentioned, but the Jergens is worth looking into.

Agreed with Rozberry. Self-tanners have come a long way from the radioactive orange they were in the 90s. Jergens is awesome.

Not really what you're asking but I thought I'd recommend this anyway:p For self tanner I love st tropez. It's expensive but it is the best self tanner I have EVER tried! And I've tried a lot:p

This isn't what your asking for either but it's just a suggestion :) when I feel my tan is not dark enough and quickly want to look darker and more bronzey and glowy, I add some 'tan enhancer' by Napolean. It is brown toned (not orange) and looks sooo nice! I'm sure other brands do one too :)
