So I used to have nice virgin hair. Then I started using hydrogen peroxide to lighten it and it turned orange ( I know, cringe.) I dyed it dark brown, even black but the orange still shows through and I hate it. How can I get rid of it for good? I can't wait for my natural hair to grow out ( in fact my hair takes years to grow 3 inches)

Try finding a purple shampoo and conditioner. make sure to leave the conditioner in for a while. I am using the joico line, which you can find at ulta, for my purple hair, but its meant to get rid of orange or brassy tones.

Maybe you went to the pool? The water of the pool has chloride in it which can cause the hair to get a bit orange.

Unred (the packet that I assume Lexi is referring to) doesn't do anything for orange. When it was orange, you should've gotten rid of it before dying over. Rather that be bleaching it until it was pale blonde or finding a toner with a developer, a shampoo wouldn't have done very much for orange. You'd have to get an actual toner.

When my color starts looking brassy, I use Rusk's Purple Bright Shampoo and leave it on depending on how bad my color is looking, about 4 minutes. Some people leave it on for a long period of time to get a platinum look but I don't suggest doing that.
