A body lotion containing an AHA will be your best bet. For the life of me I can't remember the name of it but you can find it in most drugstores in the lotion aisle. It comes in a white bottle with green writing.

That's the one Guera! Exfoliate the knees in the shower and then apply this...knees will definitely lighten up a bit.

Try LUSH Mask of Magnaminty to exfoliate. Although it states for the face and back, it works all over the skin. I had really bad hyper-pigmentation, this mask has made a huge difference. Although I haven't applied it to my knees before, I've tried it on my neck, elbows and hands. Also, during the day use something with an SPF of at least 15 so that the dark spots don't get worse or come back. Hope this helps you.

Amlactin is definitely a great idea. My doctor has recommended it to me for several skin issues:)
