I am loving the hot weather that we in the UK have just now, most hot summers here I lay out in the rays wearing a medium spf of 25-30. This year as I turned 31 I noticed my freckles have increased a lot! I want to look after my skin with a med-high SPF & still look golden & healthy! so I have tried a sunless tan out of a bottle this summer, but I want to still show a bit of skin but protect myself! (while maybe topping up my natural tan) contradiction possibly. I would like to know those who do any type of tanning, what has experience taught you (yes yes wear SPF try n cover-up!!) but how can our skin react to the chemicals of these products put together what are the results you may have had.
please share.

I love getting dark (er) during summer but not at the expense of my skin health so I self-tan on a regular and use sun protection. I haven't experienced any adverse reactions and I've been doing it for several years. I do find that my self-tanner doesn't last as long when I use a creamy SPF for day. If I use a dry oil spray (SPF max of 50) then the longevity of my self tanner last for quite awhile. Just be mindful that to reduce the increase of further spots you might need to up your SPF to 50 and apply every 2 to three hours. A natural tan is actually considered burned skin to dermatologists.
