I've recently been trying to decide between a few different foundations: Tarte Amazonian Clay, Nars sheer glow, Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation, or any others that you think I should try. As far as coverage, I want medium to full. I have fairly dry skin so that is another factor in deciding. Which one do you think I should I get or which one works best for you? Thank you all so much!!

As far as I know, amazonian clay has oil absorbing products in them so for dry skin I feel like it could potentially look cakey unless you use a really good primer for your skin. Your best bet I think would be Nars Sheer Glow because of the ingredients wouldnt dry out your face and you get a nice matte look with a powder or just the right amount of a dewy look to your skin, if I'm making any sense.

I personally hated the staying power and feel of Tarte amazonian foundation & I wasn't highly impressed with the coverage either so I was definitely disappointed
*the estee lauder Double wear is one of the closest to HG foundations I've tried so far, I love the staying power and the coverage is amazing, it can cling to dry patches, I have normal to dry skin on my face luckily because my body is extremely dry, but I have a great skincare routine and only on a few occasions have had issues with the DW & my dryness, so I'd definitely suggest getting a sample, that's the only problem you may come in contact with but other than that I love love this foundation!
I've never tried the sheer glow but I've been wanting to
Another suggestion would be the MAC studio sculpt, out of all the foundations I've tried this is the best for when my skin is dry, it feels so hydrating and it still has the coverage I like

Thanks so much! @Dorothea S. I wasn't sure about the Tarte one because everyone says it's for oily skin, so thanks so much!!

Thanks! @Sarah N. I really am leaning towards either the dw or sheer glow! I haven't really looked into Mac, because I heard they can cause acne, but it's definitely worth looking into!

The one I love the most for me and I'm really really oilly and I have some acne and the Covergirl 3 in 1 foundation is the best for me and I swear its what I live by. I don't use a primer or setting spray with it just some power and I'm good for the day.
Hope it helps!! Good luck!!

I second Christine on the cover girl foundation, it's amazing! I also have fairly dry skin, and it SUCKS. haha but I've noticed application process makes a huge difference! whenever I try applying makeup with a kabuki brush or just my fingers, it just looks caky and gross, but sponges help so much in helping blend out the makeup!

I have extremely dry skin and I have used the Nars sheer glow and I loved it. But other suggestions for you is Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. You can build it up to medium coverage. It's quite scented though so if you don't like that then my other go to is Giorgio Armani luminous silk.

Thanks! I have also seen a difference in the application. When I put it on, I pat it in and it works pretty well! :) @Emily M.

I love the estee lauder double wear! I just returned the amazonian clay foundation because it made me oily pretty quick. at ulta a bunch of the girls recommend exuviance cover blend concealing makeup. Its in the skincare area and its kinda pricy but a little goes a long way and it is very full coverage. and keeps my face oil free. I know it's not talked about really. but it is definitely something to look into.

I would suggest getting a light bb cream and getting a medium coverage foundation. And I would also recommend using a beauty blender it helps reduce cakiness😊
