If you're not confident enough with your own makeup skills then get it done professionally. You'll want to look at the pictures years from now and remember the experience, not criticize your makeup. You can call and ask them if there's a standard rate or if you have to buy a certain amount of products (for instance, a free makeover with purchase of $50 worth of products). I did my own makeup for prom and while my skills weren't as great as they are now I was still confident enough to do my own makeup and I'm still pretty happy with it, but that's just me (:

I had the same dilemma whether or not I'd do it myself or get it done, I got it done "professionally" at a Stefans salon and I honesty left wishing I'd done it myself. What I would do if I could do it over is do my base makeup myself, foundation, blush, powder, brows. Then if there's something you know isn't your strong suite go and have someone do those things for you, like eyeshadow and false lashes. Personally the girl that did my makeup didn't ask about coverage or anything like that so I ended up with very sheer, shiny foundation, orange brows and she didn't set with powder- all of these things I wish she would've taken into consideration lol. I personally like how your makeup looks, I think all you need is a bolder eye look and you're set. :)

I got my makeup for my dad's wedding done professionally and I actually cried because it was so horrible. If you're not good at makeup yourself, I would get it professionally done. But if you're good at makeup and like it done a certain way, I would do it yourself :)

If you feel confident in your skills, do it yourself. I got mine done professionally and the eye make up was a disaster, the MUA refused to put eyeliner on ( I think she just didn't know how to do a cat eye, honestly). Usually when people go to get their make up done by a MUA, what they really want is a more polished version of what they usually wear and honestly the only person to exceed those expectations is really ourselves.

Just make sure that if you get it professionally done you make it clear what you want and speak up if something isn't how you want it (kindly). Makeup artists don't know how you like to look and what types of products you like so you need to tell them. Otherwise you may not be happy with the result

If you don't feel like you'd be happy with what you'd do yourself, I'd say get it done by someone. But you should definitely check the person first because some companies have a very broad definition of "Professional". I modeled for a prom shop near me and they hired a professional from a well known company (I can't recall the name at the moment, it was a little whole ago) and she didn't know how to do eyeliner, eyeliner wings, blush/bronzer, and I had to fill in my own eyebrows. It was terrible because I had model with what she did. So check the person you're going to and possibly see if they'll do the look you want before hand to see if they can do it :) Good luck and have fun Love!

Thankyou guys I will definitely consider professional,I'll just make sure I book some trial runs first😊 and Jessica my skin is far from flawless but I used nivea express hydration primer,garnier combo/oily bb cream, a mix of concealers and a tiny bit of bareminerals powder for my base xxx

I did DIY but some had pro and it looked identical to mine. It'll probably be anything from 30-60 quid, and they would probably like you to buy some of the products used zxxx
