The title kind of explains it all. But I'm curious because I don't really see a difference between the two.

From my understanding, a balyage is a type of highlights vs an ombré which colors all of your ends and it fades into blonde.

Ombré is just the tips of the hair and balayage is lighter on the ends but it's brought up into highlights as well, it's brought further up the hair shaft as well as has face framing pieces.

Balayage is a type of highlights that are "painted on" and ombre is a gradient dip dye

Which would look best on straight hair?

Balayage. I think ombré only looks good when the hair is curled.

Plus balayage is prettier Imo, look more natural.

Balyage is more blended compared to ombre! I like both. depends how intense you want it.
