Sugaring Vs Waxing

I'm switching from shaving to waxing due to my ingrown hairs & was wondering if any of you have tried sugaring. If yes, do you go to a professional?

I've recently started doing waxing. I buy the wax from 'jessa the esthetician' she's amazing and so are her products. I am a professional so I can't answer that question but it can be tricky but I have a lot of clients prefer it. Do you have any questions about sugaring?

Not really I've watched videos and read on it. The only part that sparked my interest was that they say the sugaring hurts less. Is that true?

I wouldn't say sugaring hurts less at all (at least not at first), but it is not hot so you don't have to worry about burns. Also with sugaring it pulls the hair out with the grain so the hair always comes out at the root. It was very painful when I did it, but I liked the result of sugaring.

Thanks Carmen. I'll endure some pain if that means I stop getting ingrown hairs & shaving every other day.

I've done both waxing and sugaring regularly, and there are definitely differences. Sugaring lasts longer and works on shorter hairs. It only removes the hair, and not skin with it. Sugaring also is significantly less painful, but only for maintenance treatments, as you actually get hair reduction with sugaring as long as you keep it up. Waxing takes less time, has significantly less discomfort in application, and is cheaper generally. Also, having a lollipop or candy while getting hair removal makes it a lot less painful.
