My hair is very dark so yes I had to lighten my hair twice. Also the lightener I chose only lifts the hair 4 levels and I needed my hair to lift at least 6 levels or the color would not be as intense. So two process would lift 8 levels but of course I only needed about 6 so I just got an extra boost.
