Wear a cap. Oil in the pool or any product ruins the water "quality" and will make it dirty faster.

Pre soaking your hair in regular tap water and then putting on a cap can help without damaging the pool.

I'm on the swim team so I swim three times a week, there really isn't anything you can do before you swim other than wear a swim cap which I do anyway so I can move faster in the water. After I swim I sometimes use a shampoo specified for removing chlorine. You want to immediately wash your hair after you get out the pool and conditioners and masks are great especially since chlorine really dries out your hair. Also certain caps may pull and damage your hair if you take the cap of too fast. Hope this helps!

There's not really an effective way to protect your hair before swimming. I like its a 10 miracle leave in plus keratin for after I swim. also, if your blonde and your hair gets a little green, dissolve an aspirin tablet in warm water and soak your hair in it to restore its natural color.

My daughter swims daily. Here is her routine. Wets hair thoroughly, rubs Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Oil on ends and shaft, wraps her hair as tightly as possible around her head and pops on her swim cap. Afterwards she just rinses her hair with fresh water, ties her hair in a towel and blow dries it when she gets home. So far it has work well for her.
