Hello lovelies ❤️ I have been completely MIA for a few months now as my school life was getting completely chaotic with testing and my 3rd musical, etc. I truly have missed your beautiful faces! I'm going to try to get back into the flow of things 😊

Now to quit yik yacking and to get on to my question (s). I've ways heard about the evils of biotin and etc. And how many women mistake it for a vitamin they can just "take" and hope to get thicker hair. But I've been diagnosed with a mild case of anemia (for those of you who are unaware of this it is an iron/blood deficiency in a way) and it causes thin and breakable hair due to my lack of iron. I take iron supplements but it doesn't do much and I was just wondering if the same rules apply to whether or not biotin is a "safe" thing to take. I'm hoping it could really help my hair situation but I figured I would ask ya'll first. Thanks and have a lovely evening!

Definitely talk to your doctor. They'll be able to tell you whether or not it's a safe thing for you to take since they know more about your medical condition (s) and history than we do.

Taking biotin or any pills without taking a blood test to see if your deficient is incredibly dangerous. If you're on even a semi healthy diet you're most likely getting enough biotin from your food. As someone who has overdosed on biotin when I was younger, please do not just go out and take pills. Just because they're sold in stores does not mean you should take them without consulting a doctor. Taking any vitamins, especially biotin can lead to very bad side effects that defeat the point of taking them fit nice hair like hair loss, hair dryness, nail weakness, skin issues like permanent breakouts, dehydration etc, not to mention the lethal ones like kidney failure, liver failure, heart palpitations and more. Read these threads for even more reasons why you should NOT take biotin or any other pills just because someone on the Internet said it's okay.

And especially this one. Which also includes my story of my overdose, which is similar to your situation.

I have anaemia as well, fun isn't it! I agree with the girls above, as as far as I know, there's no link between low levels of iron and low levels of Biotin. My hair grows extremely fast.

Definitely go back to your Dr, as they'll be able to form tests to see if it's suitable for you.
