I'd go really basic, don't try winged liner or anything. Slowly trace your upper lash line, using your lashes as a guide.

If you have time, before you do your makeup test it out. If it's really easy to you, then go ahead and recreate what you just did, after you wash your face and apply everything else, but if you have a hard time, go with what Hannah said. And you can make a trace for yourself with eyeshadow before you do it!!

Just line really thinly along your lash line and if you want to do a wing use tape so you get a really crisp line. Then just join the wing to the line and make the line a little thicker as you do so.

There are a lot of tutorials on You Tube - find a couple you like and try them out. To do the winged cat eye, just imagine that the wing is an extension of your bottom eye line to get the right angle; then start at the point and join it to your top line in a triangular shape, and color in the triangle...not sure if that makes sense to you, but watch some videos and you'll get it. :-)

Use tape like abbie said it really helps.
