So I'm looking for a primer.. I have oily combination skin. Mostly oily on my nose & chin. I've tried the Stay Matte primer, the mattifying primer from MUFE, & several others that are supposed to be good for oily skinned people. The one that's been best for me so far is the Hourglass Mineral Viel. But I don't want to use it all the time because it's so expensive. I just want a primer that will make my makeup last a long time, any suggestions? I'm open to any as long as it's not a silicone type primer.

Do you exfoliate and moisturize? You could try an oil astringent.

Yes I do both of those things. And I want to stay as far away from oil as possible lol!

An oil astringent balances out the oils on your face. It doesn't add oil.

Hey savannah, have you tried Smashbox LIGHT primer? It needs to be the light version because it's matte. It works VERY well!

Lancome Visionaire? (: Try it out! Honestly don't invest money on silicone based primers. They just make your makeup slip off. Not a fan of them.

Go more for Gel primers. But Lancome has a good one. It's in a blue tube! Costly but worth it. Then again, skin reacts different so sample it and pair it up with your foundation. Try it for 2-3 days so you may get your skin accustomed to the primer and its chemical properties and such.

I second NYX photo loving primer! Especially if you're trying to find a daily primer that isn't too expensive. It does an excellent job for the price!

Thinking about trying the Cover FX Mattifying primer & the Embryolisse hydra matte lotion. Any thoughts?

No primers will work if you don't do anything about your oily skin beforehand. They'll all be a waste.

Smashbox photo finish primer works really well for me.

What astringent do you recommend Shanae? I didn't realize you meant something like a toner. I thought you meant like a oil skincare product.

Cover fx is good! I bought it a couple days ago. Loving it so far!
