Do acrylics damage your nails?

Can anyone please recommend if I should get acrylics or not! I really think they are great and I've always wanted longer nails but do they damage your nails as much as people say they do?

Yes, they can damage slightly or really bad. I don't care who tells you that they don't damage your nails because they will, no matter what you do, no matter how much you spend and no matter where you go because they will damage your nails. But it won't be bad if you take them off properly. You'll be fine.

Use a nail strengthener after you take them off and you'll be good.

They damage your nails but I think it depends on the person because I've gotten acrylics so many times and my nails seem to be just fine.

It does damage them. I'm incapable of growing my nails out, and I use acrylics. The main thing that I found is that your nails need time to heal and strengthen before you do another set. I would definitely do what Shanae suggested and use a nail strengthened but I would also wait at least two months before getting another set.

I've practically had acrylics for like 3 years. Obviously I get new ones every two weeks. But they damage your nails a lot!! My nails are practically like paper! It's horrible.

Yeah, mine weren't very damaged but I've always had very strong hair and nails so if you lack in strength with those, it will be very damaging.

Yes I get acrylics and my nails are weak and brittle after I take them off but I wear acrylics all the time
