Hey guys, so I feel my skin has changed. Not sure if it's weather or hormones or what lol. I have normal/combination skin, I have a dry T zone. I have regular break outs often, acne scars, and I'm find out it's pretty sensitive. So my question is what would be a good face wash? Moisturizer for am and pm it can be one for each, an exfoliator that isn't too abrasive ,and serum if needed. I was thinking philosophy cleanser or first aid beauty, moisturizer first aid beauty, and for an extra ump philosophy vitamin c, not sure on the exfoliator. I tried creave face wash and moisturizer and my face didn't agree with it lol. Recommendations and opinions appreciated.

Which face wash were/are you using before your skin changed?
Which CeraVe face wash have you tried? or both? I like their hydrating one but their foaming one dried me out horribly.
I think the first aid beauty ultra repair cream is a nice basic moisturizer (I like their new hydra-firm sleeping mask too), for day time if you like oils, you may like Josie marans milk argan oil treatment. It doesn't have an oily feel but it's a bit expensive, my skin loved it. For night time I really like Clinique's Super Rescue Antioxidant Night Moisturizer for combination dry.
The first aid beauty cleanser (not the red clay one) would probably be perfect for your skin since its good for combination/dry skin. The philosophy cleanser has a lot of skin irritants in it. I tried it and at first my skin did okay with it but then it made me dryer, red and downright worse than how it was before.
I have tried the vitamin c turbo boost powder from philosophy and my skin was very irritated from it. It may not irritate you but definitely. keep the receipt. I don't have any personal recommendation's for vitamin c stuff but a lot of pople on here like ole herinkson (however you spell it) vitamin c serum.
Are you wanting a scrub or a chemical exfoliant?

I forgot to add, but you may want to try out a mask for your dry T-zone. Your skin may be irritated from something you're using there and getting dry from it. I really love First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask, it helps my dry skin so much!

Lol Another thing I forgot to add was with the clinique moisturizer to only apply that on your dry areas and use the FAB moistirizer, if you decide to go that route, on the other area. The Clinique is pretty emollient and rich so it could aggravate your acne prone areas. So keep it where you need it.
Combination skin is such a pain, I feel like you hav to map out your skincare routine for two different types of skin.

I was using acnefree, which I'm using now. I feel like it drys my face out pretty bad lol
Creave I was using the hydrating one and just the regular moisturizer.
I'm not sure how an oil would do with my skin haven't tried one, but if it's light weight it might work. I just don't want anything too heavy since my skin has decided to be sensitive lol
With the first aid beauty face wash, I just hope it doesn't dry my skin out. Face wash tends to do that to me for some reason..
I heard that vitamin C is good for fading scars and what not.. I could use something like that lol
And for the exfoliator I'm not sure which ever isn't harsh one skin and does the job. I hate combo skin! Seems easier just to have dry or oily lol. Oh btw I mostly break out around my forehead.. Sometimes my chin but not often.. And thank you! For all the advice and help!! You've helped me a lot 😀

Do you exfoliate now at all? Or have you before? If yes, how often and when, as in am/pm. have you changed anything with your diet, adding or taking something away. are you active and has that changed? What are the active ingredients in the face wash you're using??

I do exfoliate I was using Peter Thomas Roth and liked it a lot but it's empty and not sure I wanna pay that much if there is a cheaper one just as good. I do it about 2 times a week at night. Nothing with my diet, I eat pretty healthy. Yes un active, workout out about 4 to 5 days a week. And I'm not 100% on the ingredients of the wash but it was the creave hydrating one.

I haven't tried it myself (I will be buying it veryyy soon though) but kitty on here uses paulas choice 2% bha liquid for chemical exfoliation. There are other options on paulas choice site of different strengths and formulation types as well. I think $20 for 4oz, you'd have to check that.

Ithink they have deluxe size samples of that cleanser at sephora in case your not sure, I know there is also sample sizes of purity cleanser too.
Sucks that your skin reacts badly to the cerave cleanser, that stuff has changed my skin so much.
No sample sizes of joise maran but I"m sure if you asked an associate for a few samples of it they would give it to you. The joise maran argan milk really is the lightest feeling on the skin out of the three she offers (regular, light, "treatment/serum").
The chemical exfoliant will help a lot too with fading acne scars.
I feel ya about hating combo skin. My skin use to be oily but it kept my skincare products low/simple but now I have three of everything for weather changes and my combo skin. Gets expensive lol

Which haven't you tried? And I'll look into the exfoliator, thank you
Only problem with getting samples is I live in guam and we don't have a sephora.. Sadly lol and they don't ship here.. So I have to get them another way.. And yes sucks bad! I was hoping it could be my HG face wash at such a good price lol any other exfoliators recommendations? And yes! I hate it! I bet having oily was better then combo lol a lot easier to choose products too!
Thank you again for your help :)

I have tried everything I have mentioned to you except the Paula's choice 2% bha liquid, which hopefully will change soon.
Ouch. I don't know what I would do without sephora! I don't have any other recommendations for chemical exfoliants. At the moment I am currently using Philosophy's Resurface - The Microdelivery Dual-Phase Peel and Josie Marans argan exfoliating powder. I wouldn't say they were gentle but the get the job done well (1x week only).

I was reading up on the paula's choice and sounds pretty good to me :)
Might be more gentle then a scrub?! And yes! Not having sephora hurts lol with products I just have to buy and hopefully they workout! It sucks! And hmm wish that would work for me! Too bad I think it would be too abrasive :(

I was looking on sephora for the Josie Marans milk oil.. But I didn't see it :(

Argan milk, hope that link works
The bha is a whole lot more gentle than those scrubs. Right now I'm trying to use up what I have then go get the bha. I haven't used when hope is not enough. What's it do?
