Questions about getting highlights.

I was thinking of getting unnatural colored highlights but I'm not quite sure what color to get or what product to use coz I've never dyed my hair before. I was thinking about either green, purple or red/orange highlights but I'm not sure yet. I have dark brown hair not quite black but it's pretty dark if you look at my profile pic. What product would work best for this? N what works better permanent or semi permanent dye?

I don't really know but I would do purple highlights for your dark hair.

I used to have highlights and I have the same natural hair color as you. I really liked having green and red highlights. But unnatural colors aren't permanent. Semi or Demi permanent will work.

I never did my own highlights, I always went to a professional because it's too easy to over/under process your hair and mess up with bleach, so I always go to a stylist for bleach. But when it comes to dye, I do it myself. Dying is going to be easy for you because the color most likely won't show up on your natural hair color. For my hair dye I typically get "Raw" which I get from hot topic (but I'm almost positive they'll sell it at Sally's) or Manic Panic but I definitely prefer Raw because it's Demi permanent and lasts longer.

I'm not too sure about dyes that will work without bleaching your hair first because I've always used bleach before, so I'm afraid I can't help out there :(

Also, I forgot to add that I know Splat is a VERY popular brand for unnatural hair dye but I've never used it
