I love Mac I've been a Mac lover since I was 18, now 35 lol anyways how come I have so much trouble with there Satin formula lipstick? My lips become super dry and all peeled looking about 4 hrs into wearing them. I use sugar lip treatment once a day plus a good balm and primer before applying. The Mattes are way less drying then the Satin formula. Do any of you beauties also jave this issue? (:

MAC lipsticks in general have started to seriously affect my lips. So much so I've been phasing them out of my collection. Regardless of the formula or prep steps I go thru to avoid dry/peeling/itchy lips...still have issues. And its depressing because I'm kicking out beloved shades. Lustres and satins are especially bad for me.

I only owned 2 MAC lipsticks all my life for the simple reason that they give me rashes around the lips. I realize how I seem like a n alien given how many people love them but I tried over a period of 10 years, but every time the reaction...grrr.

Same here satin formula lippies make my lips dry and I don't have this problem with any other brands.. I love Mac a lot but these lippies kinda depressing me.

I just remembered that Rebel is a satin formula! I don't know why but I was thinking about Frost for some reason, sorry about that!
I have it (or rather had it, it's lost somewhere) and as far as I can remember, it's never caused this problem with me. So I think it's a hit or miss, or maybe I'm just lucky!

I like to use the cremesheen formula they seem to be more moisturizing and dry peeling lip looking lol.

I tried the Prep+Prime primer as well. Made it worse actually. I already use a medical grade lip serum prior to application of any lipstick and with MAC...every single time I experience grief. But all my other lippie brands...no issues. Right now my greatest challenge is finding dupes for all my fave shades. :/

Satin is actually my favorite finish! I have the retro matte finish which is more drying for me and even difficult for me to apply but I don't have problems with my satin lipsticks. I really enjoy the amplified finishes and I think they are much more moisturizing but have a great staying power
