Urban Decay Naked Basics 1 & 2 are both neutral matte palettes with one shimmer. Fabulous quality. I use my naked basics 1 everyday. 😊

I love my W7 'the Browns' palette! Mainly matte, about two shimmers. It's 10 pan, fab pigmentation and longetivity without primer. I got mine for 7.00.

Oh man I obsessed forever about which neutral matte palette to get. In the end I got TheBalm, Meet Matt (e) Nude Size Matters. ($24 on overstock) I really like it because the pans are huge, the texture is buttery and very pigmented. This shadow doesn't fall out at all. I'm really pleased. The only drawback is that there really aren't that many base colors in the palette. In the Naked Basics there are a ton of base colors (so many, and so similar I was put off the palettes) so I find myself using the palette when I want to do a smokey eye. I guess that's why so many of the looks for the palette on youtube were smokey eyes. There is a very white, matte white that is super pigmented. It's a tough shade to find, I think so it was a good addition to my collection for that reason. There is a kind of warm yellow that is just a bit darker than my skin tone so I tend to use that as the base, but it's a bit odd for a base color, I have to say. My favorite base color is a light gray that makes for a very wearable daytime smokey eye.
All in all a good deal for the quality of the shadow and the price I paid, so I'm still not sure I'd trade the palette for either of the Naked Basics (maybe both, though!).

Shauna: I really wanted that Kashuk palette because I'd heard so many good things about it. Sadly it's discontinued and the ones you can get on Ebay are almost $40!

If your able to spend a little more I would get the it cosmetics natrually pretty celebration palette its a all matte palette but has a transforming shade to switch the shadows from matye to shimmer when you do this it does give the shadow a softer shadow but there still great and the texturw is absolutely beautiful and there so easy to blend and work with, you can find this palette at ultq.

Stila has a lot of under $30 palettes they're really nice and have a few shimmers and a few mattes.
